The New York City Board of Standards and Appeals has unanimously approved variances requested by New York Methodist Hospital needed to build a new outpatient care center. This followed the approval by Community Board 6 earlier this year.

April has marked a new beginning for emergency services at New York Methodist Hospital (NYM), and for all Brooklynites who may need life-saving care in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead. That is because NYM now receives trauma patients via New York City Emergency Medical Services.

The number of children who come to New York Methodist Hospital (NYM) for general surgery has increased by almost 50 percent in the last two years, with the Hospital now logging almost 500 cases annually.

On February 6, 2015, New York Methodist Hospital recognized Go Red for Women Day, a national campaign sponsored by the American Heart Association to raise awareness about women’s heart disease. Free screenings will be offered, and healthcare professionals will be available to answer questions about diabetes.

The Division of Dental Medicine at NYM and the American Dental Association will sponsor Give Kids A Smile Day! on Friday, February 6, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. NYM will sponsor Go Red for Women Day on Friday, February 6, 2015, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

New York Methodist Hospital (NYM) and Preserve Park Slope (PPS) today announced the settlement of the litigation commenced by PPS, challenging the approval of the Hospital’s Center for Community Health (CCH) by New York City’s Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA).
