Paws for Patients

a person and a boy with a dog

Harness some positive energy.

With the wag of a tail, NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Canine Cuddlers volunteers bring smiles to faces throughout the Hospital in areas such as the physical therapy gymnasium, the geriatric and adult psychiatric units, and the pediatric floors. As a Canine Cuddlers volunteer, you and your four-legged partner can reduce stress, promote healing, lower blood pressure and lift the spirits of patients, families and staff in the Hospital.

We would love to hear from you if you are: friendly, compassionate, responsive, the owner of a dog who has completed training at The Good Dog Foundation or (at our discretion) another certifying agency, possess an up to date certification, are at least 16 years of age

Minimum Commitment: Scheduling is flexible on a weekly or monthly basis. We are actively seeking teams that can make a weekly commitment.

Times: Seven days a week, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
