Cuddler Program
Do you have a calm demeanor, patience and experience with newborns? Do you live within walking distance of the Hospital? NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Cuddlers are warm and nurturing volunteers who hold and cuddle babies undergoing treatment in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and transitional nursery.
Food Service Management
Are you a student pursuing a career as a registered dietitian? Do you have an interest in food service management? Are you committed to promoting good nutrition to enhance overall health? Are you enrolled in an industrial food management course? Food Service Management volunteers gain experience in hospitality and culinary arts for a diverse dietary population.
Infusion Center Welcome Ambassador
Are you compassionate and service oriented? Would you enjoy providing companionship and emotional support to patients battling a serious illness? Are you organized and able to effectively communicate information to patients and staff? Infusion Center Welcome Ambassadors reduce fear and anxiety by supporting patients prior to, during and after their first chemotherapy treatments.
Labor & Delivery Greeters
Are you a currently enrolled nursing student who is cheerful, supportive, and compassionate? Are you comfortable walking and standing for long periods of time and interacting with a range of people? Labor and Delivery Greeters serve as a friendly and helpful first point of contact for patients arriving to give birth.
Maternal/Child Health Ambassador
Are you a currently enrolled nursing student who is friendly, supportive and mature? Do you consider yourself to be calm and compassionate? Are you comfortable problem solving and fostering a positive environment? Maternal/Child Health Ambassadors offer information and emotional support to patients on the Mother/Baby Unit.
Patient Care
Are you interested in getting hands-on experience as a pre-health student? Do you want to gain a deeper understanding of the physical and emotional components that are a part of working in a health career? Patient Care volunteers make a major contribution to patient health by supporting the nursing team with feeding, caring for and providing comfort to patients.

Are you cheerful and outgoing? Would you enjoy making small talk with patients and their families? Could you comfortably roll a book cart from room to room? Do you enjoy reading and talking about books? Library volunteers offer a source of entertainment and comfort for patients by delivering reading materials during patients' Hospital stays.
Paws for Patients
Do you recognize the power of pets in promoting healing and joy? Has your dog completed Animal Assisted Therapy training? Paws for Patients volunteers bring their dogs to visit patients throughout the Hospital to brighten patients' days.
Pediatrics Emergency Department Volunteer
Do you enjoy working with children and their families? Pediatrics Emergency Department volunteers offer comfort and support to pediatrics patients and their families in the emergency room, helping with non-medical issues.
Physical & Occupational Therapy

Volunteers in the Physical and Occupational Therapy Program support the work of staff engaged in therapies that enhance patient recovery and improve quality of life by rebuilding fine motor skills and mobility.
Project Contact: Patient Care in the Emergency Department

Project Contact volunteers enhance the quality of care in the Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine by providing assistance to staff and patients regarding non-medical issues.
Reach Out & Read
Are you comfortable interacting with children of different ages? Would you enjoy coming up with ways to engage children with the power of stories in a busy setting? Reach Out and Read volunteers bring the joy of reading to children in the pediatric clinic of the Hospital to entertain and promote literacy.
Recreation Therapy Assistant
Are you interested in geriatric care? Do you want to gain experience in a psychiatric setting while developing clinical skills? Are you pursuing a career in psychology, psychiatry, recreation, human services or creative arts therapy? Volunteer Recreation Therapy assistants assist the Recreation Therapist in developing and providing programming for geriatric inpatients.
Sparks of Life
Are you a musician, singer or performer? Do you have a craft or artistic skill you can share? Do you recognize the power of the creative and healing arts in making a difference in another's life? The Sparks of Life program brings in a broad group of talented volunteers to entertain and comfort patients during their Hospital stay.
Welcome Ambassador
Do you enjoy helping people? Would you be comfortable greeting and providing directions to patients and visitors? Could you spend most of your volunteer shift on your feet, standing to welcome people or escorting them to various points in the Hospital? Are you cheerful and patient? Welcome Ambassadors provide assistance by helping visitors find their way around the Hospital buildings.
