Enjoy fine food and wines on a virtual journey around the globe Thursday, November 13 as NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital again presents “Wine and Dine Around the World” this time stopping a little closer to home in the Napa Valley.

The 56th Annual Fall Gala of NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital will take place on Friday, October 21^st, at the Tarrytown House Estate On The Hudson, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails. Dinner, dancing and a silent auction follow at 7:30 p.m.

Dr. Fernando J. Martinez, a clinician and translational investigator who specializes in fibrotic lung disease and airway disorders including asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, has been named chief of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Cataracts are areas of cloudiness in the eye that occur when proteins in the lens clump together and don’t allow light to properly pass through. The changes gradually impair vision, which sometimes progresses to blindness. Surgery to remove the cataracts and replace the lens was once the only treatment option.
