On February 3, NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital recognized Go Red for Women Day, a national campaign sponsored by the American Heart Association to raise awareness about women’s heart disease.

Dr. Holly S. Andersen, director of education and outreach at the Ronald O. Perelman Heart Institute, attending cardiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and associate professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, received the 2017 CocoaVia® Healthy Heart Award as part of the Woman’s Day annual Red Dress Awards on February 7, 2017.

Dr. David Carr-Locke has been recruited as clinical director of the Center for Advanced Digestive Care (CADC) at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he will be reporting to the Executive Directors. He has also been recruited as a professor of medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine. Dr. Carr-Locke joins the institutions from Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, New York where he was chief of the Division of Digestive Diseases and associate chair of the Department of Medicine. He was formerly director of endoscopy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.

The New York State Division of the American Trauma Society awarded Dr. Steven Stylianos with the “Trauma Physician of Distinction Award,” for his contribution to trauma care excellence in 2016. Dr. Stylianos, Chief of Pediatric Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital was nominated by his peers around the New York State Trauma Community in recognition for his dedication to improving trauma care and the trauma system throughout New York State.
