Mark J. Mundy long-time president and chief executive officer of New York Methodist Hospital announced today that, he will retire after 26 years of leadership. A nationwide search will commence in the coming days to fill the position.

On Wednesday, November 16, 2016, New York Methodist Hospital held its sixth annual Red Stocking Soirée in the Hospital's Carrington Pavilion. The event offered a "Taste of Brooklyn," with dozens of local restaurants and food and beverage vendors.

NewYork-Presbyterian and New York Methodist Hospital have established a new relationship aimed at improving access and enhancing care for patients in Brooklyn. Following approval by the Department of Health, NewYork-Presbyterian is now the active parent of the Hospital, which has been renamed NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

Michael Zenilman, M.D., is New Chair of Surgery at New York Methodist Hospital. He will also serve on the Weill Cornell Medicine faculty, recruited as a professor of surgery.

New York Methodist Hospital (NYM) was recently certified by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) as an Electronic Medical Record Adoption Stage 7 IT Hospital.

Dr. Richard Liebowitz has been appointed president of NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, effective February 6. Currently NewYork-Presbyterian’s chief medical officer, Dr. Liebowitz succeeds Mark Mundy, who announced his retirement earlier this year after more than two decades of leadership.
