NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, one of the largest and most comprehensive academic medical centers in the nation, is ranked New York’s No. 1 hospital for the 17th consecutive year, and No. 8 in the United States, according to the U.S. News and World Report annual survey of “Best Hospitals,” published online today. The hospital has been once again included in the prestigious Honor Roll, which recognizes national excellence in multiple specialties.

NewYork-Presbyterian has named Dr. Laureen Hill senior vice president and chief operating officer of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, effective the end of October. She joins from Emory Healthcare, where she held several key leadership roles.

A study by researchers at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center and published in JACC: Heart Failure, a journal of the American College of Cardiology Foundation, allays concerns among cardiologists that aspirin could increase the risk of hospitalization and death related to heart failure for patients with heart failure who take one of the first-line therapies: angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs).
