The fifth season of NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital’s bi-monthly Farmers’ Market kicks off on Tuesday, May 3. New this year, the hospital will provide free taxi service to residents within a five-mile radius of the hospital who are in need of transportation, allowing many easy access to fresh, wholesome foods. Complimentary canvas tote bags will be distributed to the first 100 visitors on opening day.

Stacey Petrower, M.P.A. has been named president of NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital. A senior leader in healthcare for more than 20 years, she currently serves as chief operating officer at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital. She succeeds John C. Federspiel, who is retiring in July after 29 years as president.

Employees who work at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital are among the happiest in the nation, according to a recent survey of nearly 250,000 employees at 394 facilities nationwide.
The results released by Press Ganey this month show that employee satisfaction at Hudson Valley Hospital was rated in the 94th percentile or the top 6 percent when compared to other hospitals nationwide. The Hospital scored in the 99th percentile, placing them in the top 1 percent when compared to other hospitals in the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania region.

Firefighters from Ladder Company 122, Engine Company 220, and Tower Ladder Company 131 made a special holiday visit to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, bringing gifts and holiday cheer to the pediatric patients.

Patients with Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease may be eligible to receive nutrition counseling at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital now that the Hospital’s Outpatient Nutrition Department has been given the green light by Medicare.

Dr. Stephen Guthrie, M.D., Ph.D, Board Certified in Hyperbaric Medicine and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, has joined NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital and will head the Hospital’s Institute for Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.
