The Rev. Edwina Ngarwan Chan
Chaplain Edwina is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Church Alliance. She serves as a multi-faith chaplain at NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital. She is a board-certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains and holds a Master's degree in Pastoral Counseling from Alliance Theological Seminary. She completed her Clinical Pastoral Education at Bellevue Hospital and North Shore University Hospital. Her prior experience includes working as a palliative chaplain at North Shore University Hospital and as a staff chaplain at NYU Langone Medical Center. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Edwina is proficient in both Cantonese and Mandarin, enabling her to connect with diverse communities.
Maria Sepulveda-Cabrera
Maria Sepúlveda-Cabrera (Chaplain Maria) has been a Per Diem Chaplain at NYP Lower Manhattan Hospital since 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and a Master of Arts in Religion and Religious Education concentrating in Pastoral Studies from Fordham University's Graduate School of Religion and Religious Education. She is fluent in English and Spanish. As an Interfaith Chaplain, she focuses on ICU and Palliative Care along with Roman Catholic and Spanish-speaking patients and caregivers having trained and worked at various New York City medical and nursing centers prior to joining our team. She is also a Roman Catholic Lay Ecclesial Minister having served at her former home parish and local hospital for over 20 years. Maria is a member of the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and is working on her board certification.
