Hip Preservation & Athletic Hip Injuries
Our multidisciplinary Hip Preservation Program team provides cutting-edge nonsurgical and operative care for the full spectrum of hip injuries and disorders affecting patients ranging from infants to older adults. Hip disorders such as developmental dysplasia of the hip, hip labral tears, femoroacetabular impingement, Legg-Calve-Perthes disease, and slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE) disrupt the lives of patients across all ages and require treatment tailored to the specific diagnosis, disability and expectations of each individual patient.
Many hip preservation patients are athletes, dancers, or young active people who have been suffering with debilitating hip pain. Often times, they have been misdiagnosed or have exhausted physical therapy and other treatment options. Whether caring for competitive athletes with a traumatic injury, managing chronic hip disorders, or treating degenerative conditions, our goal is to relieve pain, restore function, and halt further damage to the hip joint.
Our experts offer non-surgical rehabilitation services and explore the least invasive treatment possible for every patient, including the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). For patients who do need surgery, we have a highly experienced surgical team which has experience in both minimally invasive and highly technical procedures, including peri-acetabular osteotomy (PAO) procedures, hip arthroscopy, and surgical hip dislocation.
