Overview
Government and Community Affairs works to support the health and well-being of New Yorkers to benefit the communities we serve. We endeavor to build relationships and trust with our local communities and government officials via ongoing communication, advocacy, community philanthropy and capacity building and support for NYP’s community health programming.
Government Relations
NewYork-Presbyterian works with local, state, and federal officials to support the health and safety of our patients and communities. Contact us at [email protected].
Government Grants
NewYork-Presbyterian's Office of Grants Management obtains and administers grants funded by federal, state, and city agencies, including applications, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
The Office of Grants Management also provides periodic training sessions for non-profits interested in identifying and applying for government grants. If your organization is interested in attending a training session, contact us at [email protected]. If you are interested in other technical assistance, visit our Capacity Building page.
Community Health Needs Assessment and Community Service Plans
NewYork-Presbyterian completes a triennial Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to understand the needs of local communities and the conditions that influence their well-being. These Community Health Needs Assessments are designed in collaboration with local community input, and the findings inform our Community Service Plans, which are designed to enhance community health.

Community Advisory Boards
NewYork-Presbyterian hosts local Community Advisory Boards. These committees include community representatives who meet regularly with NewYork-Presbyterian leaders to discuss issues affecting well-being in the communities we serve.

NYP as an Anchor Institution
Anchor institutions are universities, hospitals, and other enduring organizations rooted in place that play a vital role in the community they serve. As an anchor institution, NewYork-Presbyterian plays a crucial role in the health of our surrounding communities by offering programs and services that extend beyond healthcare.
NewYork-Presbyterian joined the Healthcare Anchor Network in 2022 to cement our commitment as an anchor institution.
