Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation
NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester (formerly Lawrence Hospital) offers a variety of services and therapies designed to evaluate and treat problems affecting movement and function. Among our services:
Musculoskeletal and Orthopedic Rehabilitation
Physical therapists are experts in the evaluation and treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular problems affecting mobility and function. Key elements in physical therapy treatment are therapeutic exercise and functional training. Our therapists have specialized training in manual therapy that incorporates a variety of modalities and exercise equipment, plus an array of massage and mobilization techniques. Each therapy program is customized to your unique physical capabilities and challenges. In addition to compassionate, "hands-on" care, our therapists spend time educating you about your diagnosis to help you fully understand your injury.
Occupational Therapy/Hand Therapy
Hand injuries require highly specialized care. Our team of knowledgeable and experienced occupational therapists includes certified hand therapists dedicated to the rehabilitation of the hand and arm. All programs are customized to meet the patient's unique needs and may encompass static and dynamic splinting, therapeutic exercise programs, patient education, and training in activities of daily living.
Physiatrist Services
Our staff includes four board-certified physiatrists who provide consultation, electromyography, pain management, and acupuncture.
