Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia
The William Randolf Hearts Rehabilitation Unit is located within NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center hospital, which means we have access to a wide range of specialists who can be consulted as needed.
The inpatient rehabilitation unit is designed for patients who require intense, active, and ongoing therapeutic intervention with multiple therapy disciplines (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology) in accordance with CMS guidelines.
We provide rehabilitation services for patients recovering from major illnesses and conditions including:
- Amputation
- Acquired traumatic brain injury
- Cancer and its treatments
- Cardiac rehabilitation/ventricular assist device rehabilitation
- Hip fractures
- Major traumatic injuries
- Orthopedic surgery
- Prolonged hospitalization
- Speech and Swallowing difficulties
- Spinal Cord injuries
- Spine surgery
- Stroke or other neurological conditions affecting function
- Transplant, specifically heart, lung, kidney or a combination of multiple transplants
