Our Research
The Center for Patient Safety Research applies rigorous research methods to develop and test innovative strategies for improving patient safety. Our research focuses primarily on quantifying and preventing medical errors using systems-based approaches. Leveraging health information technology, we conduct federally funded and hospital-supported research projects to test solutions that can be readily replicated and widely implemented across health systems. Results of our research have informed national recommendations by The Joint Commission and the Department of Health and Human Services.
