Monday morning, NewYork-Presbyterian Queens celebrated the grand opening of its new, state-of-the-art Therapeutic Medicine Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The center is designed to serve the adult outpatient population; it provides a patient focused, relaxed and peaceful environment for patients receiving intravenous treatment for cancer, anemia and other medical conditions. The center will welcome its first patients on April 19.

As we welcome the start of spring, NewYork-Presbyterian Queens is offering advice to keep your children safe and healthy. “Spring is a high activity season, perhaps more so than any other, and unfortunately, injuries do happen,” said Joseph J. Dr. Brian Marr will join the Department of Ophthalmology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center as director of the Division of Ophthalmic Oncology, effective May 15. He will also serve as a professor of ophthalmology at Columbia University Medical Center.

New York Hospital Queens and NewYork-Presbyterian have joined forces to improve access to state-of-the-art care for residents of Queens. New York Hospital Queens, a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System for more than 22 years, has been renamed NewYork-Presbyterian/Queens effective July 1.

The Clinical Internship Program for Child Life Specialists at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center has recently become the first program in New York City to be accredited by the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP). This accreditation is the highest honor for Child Life Clinical Internship Programs, with only 33 programs recognized nationally to date.
