The Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine proudly serves the diverse pediatric population of Queens. We are composed of eight board-certified pediatric emergency physicians, all with vast experience in caring for ill and injured children. In 2023, more than 20,000 children received care at our dedicated, child-friendly, pediatric emergency department.

The emergency department is run by an efficient team of providers, nurses, and staff that are committed to a culture of safety in providing patient-centered care. Our service has seen a significant growth in the past year due to the impact of adding more pediatric services. We now have a pediatric intermediate care unit, a fully staffed pediatric hospitalist program, multiple pediatric subspecialties (e.g. Critical Care, Neonatal Care, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Neurology, Surgery, Orthopedics) and strong ties with New York Presbyterian Komansky and Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospitals.

Our department is committed to excellence in education and research. We have dedicated pediatric educational curriculums for emergency medicine residents and advanced practice providers. These activities include robust pediatric simulations and regular pediatric emergency conferences. We are very active in presenting abstracts at national meetings, participating in national conferences, and we lead multiple pediatric studies within our division.
