Frequently Asked Questions
What is integrative health?
Integrative health (also called integrative medicine) is a comprehensive approach to health care and wellbeing. We incorporate integrative health services into our comprehensive medical system to help you meet all of your health needs — physical, emotional, and social.
What types of integrative health services do you provide?
We offer physician consultations, nutritional counseling, acupuncture, massage therapy, and mind-body instruction in techniques such as meditation, guided imagery, and yoga. Our doctors also lead educational seminars to help you learn how to improve your well-being.
Are these services in place of my usual health care?
No. Integrative health approaches are in addition to your current health care.
Are your providers licensed?
Our practitioners are licensed in their areas of expertise.
Are the services you provide proven in medical studies?
Yes. Many studies have been done to support the value of integrative health approaches to enhance quality of life and well-being. We offer therapies that have been shown in studies to be safe and effective for the prevention and treatment of certain medical conditions.
How do I know if I need integrative health services?
The best way to find out which services may benefit you is to schedule a consultation with us. A dual-certified physician will conduct a 45-60 minute comprehensive assessment and answer your questions.
How often do I have to come, and for how long?
You determine when you want to visit us and how often. We believe that integrative health and wellbeing is a lifelong process, and we will partner with you to create your treatment plan.
Will my insurance cover the fees for your services?
Our physicians accept many insurances and will bill your insurance provider. Our nutritionist and acupuncturist also participate in several insurance plans. While many insurers cover our services, please check with your plan in advance of receiving care to see if the requested service is covered. Massage therapy, Pilates, and one-on-one mind-body instruction are generally not covered services, and payment is requested at the time of service. Our staff is available to answer any questions you may have and to assist you with this process. Please call our office at 646-697-9355.
Will you work with my current healthcare team?
Yes. We are happy to work with the rest of your healthcare team. Our shared electronic medical record also helps to provide seamless communication with other Weill Cornell Medicine providers.
