Hematology-Oncology Fellowship Program

Message from the Program Director:

Welcome to the New York Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital Hematology and Oncology Fellowship program. I am delighted that you are interested in our program and hope the information you find here will help you begin to understand what our program has to offer.

The overall goal of the Hematology/Oncology fellowship program at New YorkPresbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital is to provide the education, training, and clinical experience necessary to gain competence as a Hematologist and Oncologist. This includes the goal of Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology by the ABIM, competence in procedures expected of the Hematology/Oncology subspecialist, and achievement of required performance skills through implementation of the ACGME core competencies as described in the competency-based goals and objectives for each rotation.

The faculty is committed to excellence in clinical care, education, and research, and will provide you with all the necessary experience and tools you need to succeed in both clinical and academic endeavors.

Our combined Hematology and Medical Oncology training program is a fully accredited 3-year program, and throughout the three-year fellowship program, fellows participate in a comprehensive educational curriculum, which complements their clinical and research experiences. In addition to inpatient, outpatient, and Bone Marrow Transplant rotations, the curriculum includes biweekly case conferences and journal club, weekly disease-focused tumor boards, board reviews, and Grand Rounds. The curriculum is augmented by monthly Biopsychosocial rounds and research seminars.

All clinical and academic activities take place at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, the Center for Community Health at New YorkPresbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, and New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan.

We strongly believe that our program's success is measured by the success of our fellows, and our program is developed to meet as many specifications as possible.

Thank you for your consideration of our program. If you have any other questions that are not answered by our website, please do not hesitate to contact us.
