The Mothers Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center is a first-of-its-kind space dedicated to providing comprehensive care to pregnant women with complications requiring specialized care. Our Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) experts and specialists across various medical and surgical subspecialty areas collaborate to customize treatment plans to meet your needs.
- A National Model: The Mothers Center is the only such comprehensive care center in the country, working to reduce the incidence of some of the leading causes of maternal complications, including obstetric hemorrhage, placenta accreta and hypertension, and venous thromboembolism (blood clot.) The Mothers Center team is also conducting research to improve care and education to improve the health of women everywhere.
- All the Care You Need: Our services include coordinating appointments with specialists, providing counseling, including preconception counseling, and establishing a plan to manage your care in the best way possible. How to reach us
No matter how a woman is referred to us, we understand the need for prompt testing and consultation with all needed specialists, so we schedule visits quickly and conveniently. Our Care Coordinator will help provide you with compassionate, individualized attention from the moment you first contact us.
For patients: You can call us at the Mothers Center directly to schedule consultation. A clinical care coordinator will work with you to acquire your medical records, answer any questions you may have, and support you. Please call 212-305-7334.
For doctors: If you are a referring physician, you may call the Mothers Center for further consultation, co-management, or transfer of a patient requiring delivery at our facility for maternal complications. The Mothers Center also offers second opinion consults and will refer your patient back to your care if we think she can be safely managed and delivered in her community. We'll provide you with timely feedback regarding our findings and recommendations.
