Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about Volunteering

All applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older, 18 for many volunteer programs. Please check your campus' opportunities for specifications.

You have the ability to volunteer at multiple campuses; however, if you initiate the interview, onboarding, and medical clearance process at a specific campus, you must dedicate a minimum of 75 hours to your service at the campus that you initially applied to. Once you fulfilled the minimum requirement, you can volunteer at an additional campus.

If you do not meet the minimum hour requirement, we will not be able to write you a letter or sign any paperwork to confirm your completion of volunteer service.

Depending on the campus and assignment, we expect you to come in once or twice a week for two or four (4) consecutive hours. This is the minimum commitment.

Please contact your supervisor and let him or her know that you are unable to attend that day.  We do ask that you make up any missed assignment(s) and give advanced notice when possible.

We offer a Leave of Absence up to six months.  After six months you will be considered a new volunteer and need to complete the entire application and clearance process again.  We also cannot guarantee that you can return and cannot hold your assignment during a leave.
