Otology/Neurotology Fellowship

The Otology/Neurotology Fellowship is a comprehensive, ACGME-accredited, two-year bi-campus training program, admitting one fellow every two years.

Rotations are offered at:

  • New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center
  • New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center
  • Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

The fellowship includes exposure to otologic surgery, microscopic and endoscopic ear surgery, and lateral skull base pathology. We welcome applicants both from the United States and abroad.

How to apply for the Otology/Neurotology Fellowship

Our Fellowship is a 2-year, ACGME-accredited training program that matches 1 fellow every 2 years. NYP’s academic year begins July 1st.  Applications and all supporting documentation must be submitted by June 15th.

You must apply through SF Match, a third-party matching service, and use their Central Application System.

Complete the following steps to apply:

  1. Visit the SF Match website to register as an applicant and use their Central Application System to upload your application.
  2. All applications to NYP Columbia/Weill Cornell programs must include these ( website (with materials required to apply)

Appointments are made through the Neurotology Fellowship Match, which is coordinated by SF Match and sponsored by the Joint Residency Committee of the American Otological Society and the American Neurotology Society.

Applicants who are considered for an appointment will be invited to a personal interview with the program director and selected faculty.

Interviews are conducted between July- September every other year.

Application Process:

Materials required to apply

All applications to our fellowship must include these materials as supporting documentation.

  • Curriculum vitae
    • Describe your activities with professional societies, publications, and any other relevant information about your education or experience.
  • Personal statement of professional goals
  • Copy of diploma from your medical school, graduate school and/or dental school
  • Official test transcripts for all applicable examinations
    • USMLE, LMCC, COMLEX, NBOME, FMGEMS, FLEX, or NBME.
  • Valid ECFMG certificate required if you graduated from a medical school outside the U.S. or Canada.
  • Two original letters of recommendation, or if specified in your program description, letters from physicians or faculty members who are thoroughly familiar with your work. If you have had prior residency training, ask your program director for a letter of recommendation. Each letter should include the writer's opinion of your professional, academic, and personal qualifications, as well as an opinion of your potential success in the field for which you are applying. Postdoctoral fellowship applications should have one of these letters from your thesis adviser. If applying in Recruit, the recommenders will receive an email with a link to upload the letters.
