New York-Presbyterian is home to one of the nation's first infant cardiac intensive care units (ICU). Created in 2017, this unit can treat the country’s smallest cardiac ICU patients and is equipped to care for premature or low-birth-weight newborns.
Our infant cardiac ICU is one of the only units in the country that offers specialized, multi-disciplinary care to neonates with congenital heart disease.
From the specialized healthcare providers to dedicated space, NewYork-Presbyterian's infant cardiac ICU can address the needs of the smallest patients. The space is staffed by neonatal cardiac intensivists and specialized neonatal nurses, ensuring that young patients receive the complex care they need.
The team operates out of the Vivian and Seymour Milstein Family Infant Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, a 17-bed unit dedicated solely to the care of neonates born with congenital heart defects. Everything in the unit, from the medical beds to the equipment, is designed to treat infant patients.
