Infection Prevention

Special Plus Contact isolation is used to help keep individuals safe from spores that spread through contact with a patient or objects in a patient’s room.

When visiting a patient:

1. Perform hand hygiene before entering the room.
2. Wear a gown and gloves.
3. Remove and discard gown and gloves before leaving the room.
4. Wash hands with hospital-provided hand soap and water before leaving the room.
