Droplet Isolation

Droplet isolation is used to help keep individuals safe from diseases that spread through particles that come out of the mouth during talking or coughing or from drainage from the nose.

When visiting a patient:

  1. Perform hand hygiene before entering the room.
  2. Wear a surgical mask and eye protection.
  3. Remove and discard surgical mask and eye protection upon leaving the room.
  4. Perform hand hygiene upon leaving the room.
