This holiday season, Santa Claus (also known as Tom Franze) left the North Pole a little earlier than usual to pay a special visit to the children in the pediatrics unit at New York Methodist Hospital. Santa, who made his entrance via the third floor window of the Hospital, surprised the children with gifts. A cherry picker, courtesy of Ladder Company 105, lifted St. Nick three flights to the pediatrics unit.

Santa was accompanied by several elves from Engine Company 220 and Ladder Company 122 who when they're not helping Santa climb ladders and don fire resistant clothing. The annual visit from Santa and his trusty group of helpers is a cherished tradition at NYM. This holiday ritual is one that delights the parents and staff at New York Methodist Hospital as much as the children.
