New York
The American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) recently awarded NewYork-Presbyterian the 2016 Excellence in Health Care Facility Management Award for its space and asset management system that spans the NewYork-Presbyterian enterprise.
The Excellence in Health Care Facility Management Award honors those individuals or departments that build new, dynamic programs or processes that advance the physical environment and improve patient care. The award was announced during National Health Care Facility and Engineering Week, October 23 – 29.
With more than 3,400 beds, NewYork-Presbyterian successfully merged three disconnected applications – space utilization, patient experience and regulatory asset management – into a single, integrated environment, allowing interdisciplinary groups to collaborate seamlessly with one another. Since implementation, the system has saved approximately $3 million and has seen a 30 percent decrease in the number of physical environment deficiencies.
ASHE is a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association and a vital resource for professionals who design, build, maintain and operate hospitals nationwide, ensuring they receive the necessary support and tools to maintain safe, healing environments for medical professionals and patients.
