On August 15, 2013, the New York City Department of Education announced plans to develop a Career and Technical Education High School with Early College (grades 9-14) program, in collaboration with NewYork-Presbyterian, Microsoft and the City University of New York. The school, which will open in Manhattan in September 2014, will focus on the intersection of health care and information technology. Classes will emphasize computer information and systems management as students train through internships for health care-related technology careers with Microsoft systems and acquire experience in New York-Presbyterian Hospital's information technology operations.
