New York Methodist Hospital’s Annual Red Stocking Soirée to Benefit Uninsured and Underinsured Brooklyn Residents

New York Methodist Hospital's (NYM) annual Red Stocking Soirée fundraiser will be held on Wednesday, November 20 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Hospital's Carrington Pavilion, 506 Sixth Street in Brooklyn.
Red Stocking is the oldest holiday fundraising drive in the country. The tradition dates back to 1925 when Brooklyn Sunday school children and church groups generously filled Christmas stocking-shaped cardboard folders with coins to benefit NYM, their community hospital. The Red Stocking icon continues to be a great source of pride and inspiration for New York Methodist Hospital, and all are welcome to join staff, friends and neighbors for a festive evening to raise money to help provide charity medical care for those who are uninsured or underinsured in Brooklyn.
The Red Stocking Soirée will feature culinary delights, fine wines and beverages from some of Brooklyn's best restaurants and food vendors. Participants include Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Backyard, Benchmark, Crabbie's Original Alcoholic Ginger Beer, Elberta Restaurant & Bar, Faros Restaurant, Fletcher's Brooklyn Barbecue, Fort Reno, Grand Central Oyster Bar Brooklyn, L'Albero Dei Gelati, Le Pain Quotidien, Michael and Ping's, Okeanos, Owl's Brew, Pull Brewing Co., Rice Thai Kitchen, Samuel Adams Beers and Zito's Sandwich Shoppe. The Red Stocking Soirée also features a culinary inspired raffle and silent auction of unique gifts and experiences, including dining gift certificates and cooking classes.
Tickets to the Red Stocking Soirée are $100 at the "Friend" level, and $150 at the "Brooklyn Patron" level, which includes recognition in the Soiree's event program, as well as a Brooklyn Gourmet goody bag for the first 50 ticket holders. All Red Stocking Soirée tickets are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and can be purchased online at www.nym.org/redstocking or by calling NYM's Development Department at 718-780-5343.
