Nutrition Month: Enjoy the Taste of Eating Right
Mar 11, 2014
Lawrence Hospital Center in Bronxville is highlighting the importance of making informed food choices during National Nutrition Month. This year's focus is on combining both taste and nutrition, because eating healthy doesn't have to mean eating bland, tasteless food.
No one knows how to tailor an individualized nutrition plan better than a registered dietitian. At Lawrence Hospital Center, Katie Campbell, RD guides individuals to a healthier lifestyle through positive food choices and behavior modification. She considers important factors such as lifestyle, physical conditions and food preferences when creating a realistic, individualized eating plan.
Campbell has been creating tasty and nutritious food plans for years, which is the focus of this year's National Nutrition Month. The annual observance started back in 1973 as National Nutrition Week. It turned into a month-long observance in 1980 in response to the population's growing interest in nutrition.
During the month of March, Lawrence Hospital Center will be holding “Enjoying the Taste of Eating Right” lectures, which will be held each week from Noon to 1 p.m. in either the Lobby Conference Room or Palmer Hall’s 3rd floor Conference Room. A free, healthy lunch will also be provided.
Here are the topics:

March 19th: “Gone Coconuts?” - the truth behind the many health claims of this tropical fruit.
March 27th: “Does Cutting Out Gluten Mean Cutting Down Your Waist Size?” - an in-depth review of gluten allergies and sensitivities, diseases related to gluten intolerance, latest research and its use as a diet plan.
