Bronxville, NY

Lawrence Hospital Center, in Bronxville, NY, received unanimous approval from the Public Health and Health Planning Council of NY State for its planned 3 story expansion. The proposed project, will bring radiation services to the hospital’s campus for the first time, provide for a new outpatient chemotherapy infusion center and replace the hospital’s six aging operating rooms with state-of-the-art all purpose operating rooms.

This Certificate of Need issued by the Department of Health combined three previously approved projects and results in greater efficiency and significant cost savings for the hospital. The expansion is expected to cost $39 million dollars, including the equipment.

In late 2010, the Hospital applied for the necessary approval from the Village of Bronxville and is hopeful that final approval for this critical community project will come in early 2012.

Edward M. Dinan, President/CEO stated, “The project allows us to develop a fully integrated and comprehensive center that is focused on the patient. The new operating rooms are critically necessary for today’s high technology surgeries, and retain and attract the high quality surgeons who practice at Lawrence.”
