NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital’s leading bariatric group has opened a new office in Fishkill to better serve area patients.
New York Bariatric Group (NYBG) will open its Fishkill office at 200 Westage Business Center, Suite 314, Fishkill, NY on April 13, 2015.
Shawn Garber, MD, Director of the New York Bariatric Group and Chief of Bariatric Surgeryat NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital, said, "With obesity rates growing each year in the United States, it’s important that those affected know the signs, dangers, and treatments available to combat obesity. Eric Sommer, MD, who performs bariatric surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian/Hudson Valley Hospital, will see patients at the Fishkill office in addition to his current offices at 1985 Crompond Road, Building C, across from the hospital.
Dr. Sommer is a board certified surgeon who has performed more than 600 bariatric procedures including laparoscopic gastric bypass, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding. He also has an extensive advanced laparoscopic background performing laparoscopic Nissen/Toupet fundoplicaton for reflux, laparoscopic inguinal and ventral hernia repair, laparoscopic colectomy and laparoscopic splenectomy.
