Lawrence Hospital Center’s Radiology Department is pleased to announce its new affiliation with The Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging. The Alliance, whose primary focus is imaging children gently, is a coalition of health care organizations dedicated to providing safe, high quality pediatric imaging nationwide. The primary objective of the Alliance is to raise awareness in the Imaging community of the need to adjust radiation doses when imaging children. The ultimate goal of the Alliance is to provide an even safer environment for children and to encourage health care providers to change the way they image children. At Lawrence Hospital Center, we are proud to be a part of this important endeavor – to image children gently. And, with the acquisition of our new Low Dose CT scanning device (the only one in Southern Westchester County), we are able to acquire images using up to 40% less radiation during a scan. That’s why at Lawrence, we are confident that we can deliver on our promise to “Image Gently” children and adults alike.
