NewYork-Presbyterian Och Spine Hospital’s Midtown location is making world-class, integrated spine care more convenient and accessible for patients.
The NYP Och Spine Hospital, which brings together world-class Columbia spine care specialists, recently launched a streamlined call center that creates a single point of entry for patients to connect with spine care providers. Additionally, a new spine nurse navigator is available on-site in Midtown to coordinate the care of patients that may need to see multiple specialists.
“The NewYork-Presbyterian Och Spine Hospital is dedicated to providing the most innovative, advanced spine care for the treatment of the most common disorders to the rarest, most complex conditions,” said Dr. Lawrence Lenke, surgeon-in-chief at the NewYork-Presbyterian Och Spine Hospital. “We are pleased to introduce new features to our Midtown center to improve the patient experience for those in need of spine care.”
When a patient calls or emails the NYP Och Spine Hospital call center, an access agent will briefly discuss the patient’s symptoms and prior care to help determine if the patient should first see an orthopedic surgeon, a neurosurgeon, a non-operative spine specialist, or a physical therapist, and the nurse navigator can further assist in triaging patients with more complex needs. The Midtown location also offers a comprehensive imaging suite for X-rays, MRI and CT scanning to evaluate bones, muscles, and joints, and patients can meet with physical therapists or receive non-operative injections. With this tailored approach and a variety of specialists and services all in one place, patients can see a provider within a couple of days to quickly receive treatment – and find relief – for their spine conditions.
The NewYork-Presbyterian Och Spine Hospital, primarily based in Northern Manhattan, opened its satellite location in Midtown in 2014 to reach more patients in need of the highest quality spine care.
“Our practice in Midtown is convenient for many patients who live or work in Manhattan, and now it will be even easier for patients to access the spine care they need,” said Dr. Clark Smith, director of interventional spine care in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Och Spine Hospital. “We are proud to offer a one-stop location for world-class, integrated spine care in Midtown.”
