Among our services:
Physical Therapy
Physical therapists are experts in the way the human body moves. They use a variety of techniques to promote movement, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. They help to prevent loss of mobility by developing fitness and wellness oriented programs to help people achieve a healthier and more active lifestyle. Physical therapists apply evidence based techniques to help people get back in motion. Key elements in physical therapy treatment are therapeutic exercise and functional training. Each therapy program is customized to your unique physical capabilities and challenges. In addition to compassionate, "hands on" care, our therapists spend time educating you about your diagnosis to help you fully understand your injury.

Lymphedema Treatment
Lymphedema is the build-up of fluid, usually in the arms or legs, which causes swelling. It is a condition that develops slowly when lymph channels and ducts are damaged by surgery, cancer, radiation, trauma, poor circulation, or infection. It may also occur for no known reason. If the swelling is not treated, the build-up of fluid causes the skin and muscles to become thick and hard and can affect circulation, slow wound healing, or cause infection.
Our physical therapists are specially trained in the treatment of lymphedema. In addition they hold specialty certification in the Norton School of Lymphedema Therapy. Types of treatments may include compression therapy, Manual Lymph Drainage, individually tailored exercise programs, and education regarding skin and nail care, self-bandaging techniques and the use of compression garments.
Vestibular Rehabilitation
Vestibular and balance disorders can be the result of head injury, stroke, viral infections, inner ear dysfunction, and the deterioration of the visual and vestibular systems due to aging. Patients who may benefit from Vestibular Rehabilitation may be experiencing the following symptoms: dizziness with position changes or head movements, history of falls, nausea, persistent headache, double or blurry vision, ringing in the ears, or change in activity level.
Our staff of physical therapists certified in vestibular rehabilitation provides comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment plans. The department utilizes state-of-the-art equipment such as the Biodex balance system and Frenzel goggles for evaluation and treatment.
Occupational Therapy/Hand Therapy
Occupational Therapy is a health profession that helps people live life to its fullest. Occupational therapists help people who have had an illness or injury relearn the skills of daily living to enable them to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives. Occupational therapists are specially trained and credentialed in the field and rely on evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
Hand injuries require highly specialized care. Our team of knowledgeable and experienced occupational therapists includes certified hand therapists dedicated to the rehabilitation of the hand and arm. All programs are customized to meet the patient's unique needs and may encompass static and dynamic splinting, therapeutic exercise programs, patient education, and training in activities of daily living.
Speech/Language Therapy
Speech-Language Pathologists concentrate on communication and swallowing disorders. These disorders may be the result of neurological impairment, injury or surgery. Evaluation and treatment of communication problems may focus on speech production, voice, auditory comprehension, word finding and verbal expression. In addition, other skills such as reading, writing, attention, memory, problem solving, thinking and learning are addressed.
We offer state-of-the-art video fluoroscopic swallowing studies, clinical swallowing evaluations, and treatment programs for patients with dysphagia. Our speech pathologists offer a weekly Aphasia Support Group. Meetings are free.
