Diagnostic Services
Providing An Accurate and Expedient Diagnosis
If cancer is suspected based on results of screening tests or your symptoms, your physician may recommend a biopsy, a tissue sample, to confirm the diagnosis. At NewYork-Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital, our highly experienced, board-certified pathologists provide an accurate and expedient diagnosis and staging of your cancer and will collaborate closely with your physician to formulate a treatment plan that is best for you.
Our Diagnostic Services Include:
Interventional Radiology
Interventional radiologists work closely with oncologists and use minimally invasive approaches to evaluate suspicious areas and access tissue through image-guided biopsy in our outpatient radiology suite.
Needle Biopsy
The doctor uses a needle to withdraw fluid or tissue.
Surgical Biopsy
We offer surgical biopsy procedures and timely review by board-certified pathologists to maximize coordinated care and patient convenience.
PET/CT Scanning
In addition to other imaging exams and surgery, your physician may recommend positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scanning to stage your cancer, identify the extent of disease, and monitor your cancer during and after your treatment.
