Every year, NewYork-Presbyterian awards more than $4 million to community-based organizations in the New York neighborhoods we serve. These nonprofits are part of the fabric of the communities in which our patients live, work and play, and address critical social determinants that help neighborhoods thrive.
Our work in the community is one of the many ways we reach outside the walls of our hospital to address local issues and needs.
Whether we are providing cross-cultural knowledge about healthcare, supplying families with fresh produce, or supporting housing needs, our community teams operate a variety of initiatives dedicated to enriching the health and wellness of the people we serve.
By working with impactful organizations like the YMCA of Greater New York, Breaking Ground, the Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation, Renaissance Technical Institute, and hundreds of others, NewYork-Presbyterian is able to empower an adaptive network of community-focused organizations with high-quality resources through capacity building, grant opportunities, technical support, and expert clinical care.
