The kidneys perform many complex and vital functions that keep our bodies in balance. Since kidney disease often goes undetected until it’s at an advanced stage, it’s important to take steps to keep your kidneys healthy.
About Our Program
At NewYork-Presbyterian, we provide unmatched care for a full range of kidney conditions, including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, kidney failure, diabetic nephropathy, and other disorders.
With the medical leadership and clinical distinction of NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center and NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, our nephrologists are pioneers in the field, working to develop and improve treatments for patients with even the most complex cases, including those who need or have already had a kidney transplant. We consider the whole patient – their lifestyle, history, and any other medical issues – and tailor treatment to their unique needs.
Our teams also collaborate closely with NewYork-Presbyterian’s kidney transplantation programs, which are among the nation’s oldest and largest programs performing more than 400 deceased-donor and living-donor kidney transplants each year.
