Robert S. Brown, Jr., MD, MPH, FAASLD was recently elected to the Foundation Board of Trustees for the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the the leading professional society of clinical hepatologists and researchers in the United States.
As a trustee, Dr. Brown will be involved in establishing, reviewing, and prioritizing the foundation's long-term objectives, activities, and policies to further its mission. Dr. Brown's term will run from January 2018 through until 2020.
Dr. Brown is an internationally known expert in liver disease and liver transplantation, with a clinical and research focus on viral hepatitis and liver transplantation. He is Director of the Center for Liver Disease and Transplantation at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Vice Chair of Transitions of Care in the Department of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine, and the Gladys and Roland Harriman Professor of Medicine,
In addition to co-authoring over 150 peer-reviewed publications on the subject of liver disease and transplantation, Dr. Brown is an Associate Editor for Liver Transplantation and Gastroenterology and Hepatology News, and author of the book Common Liver Diseases and Transplantation: An Algorithmic Approach to Work-up and Management.
