Dental Sealants

Dental sealants come highly recommended by the American Dental Association and many others as a method of preventing cavities in the molar teeth. The molars often have pits and fissures which toothbrushes can't reach, making them especially vulnerable to decay. Children develop their first set of molars around the age of six, and their second set around the age of twelve. These are often ideal times to consider dental sealant.

Dental sealants are made of plastic resin that fill in pits and fissures and "seal out decay." As long as the sealants remain intact, the teeth are protected from decay.
