Department of Social Work
Welcome to the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Department of Social Work web site. Our department has been in existence for
over 75 years and continues to be a leader in social work practice, education and research. The department is comprised of approximately 95 master's-prepared
social workers and support staff. We provide services across the continuum of care to patients of all ages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Social workers at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital provide services to patients of all ages – from children to adults – who are admitted to our Hospital or who are seen on an out-patient basis. As part of your healthcare team, the professional social work staff helps patients and families understand and cope with medical, psychological, and social issues related to their illness.
