Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®)

NewYork-Presbyterian earns accreditation for adolescent bariatric surgery by the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP®) – the first accredited adolescent program in New York State and one of only a few nationwide.

NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital is part of the Children’s Hospitals’ Solutions for Patient Safety (SPS) network, a collaboration of more than 140 children’s hospitals in the U.S. and Canada, advocating for improved patient safety and best practices in children’s hospitals. Between 2012 and 2018, SPS efforts saved 11,000 children from medical errors and adverse events, leading to an estimated savings of more than $182 million in health care costs.

The William Randolph Hearst Burn Center at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center provides comprehensive care to children and adults in New York City and the surrounding area who have sustained burn injuries. One of the largest in the country — treating more than 700 inpatients and 4,000 outpatients each year, the Burn Center is New York’s oldest wound treatment facility.
