The Cycle of Abuse
It is hard to believe that a partner can
be loving and violent at the same time. Often, the abuser is sorry and kind
after the abuse, creating a honeymoon atmosphere. However, promises and
apologies become empty as the survivor is again isolated and controlled, leading
to increased tension and repeated abuse.
