Advanced Care for Chest Disease

The management of complex lung and gastrointestinal diseases requires a team approach utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. We bring together multiple specialists, including surgeons, pulmonologists, gastroenterologists, medical and radiation oncologists, nursing coordinators, and pulmonary rehabilitation/physical therapy professionals – in one convenient location.

New York-Presbyterian is home to the most cutting-edge diagnostic tools, research programs, chemoprevention protocols, and treatments for lung and esophageal diseases. We feature the most active lung transplant program in the northeastern United States. Our team is recognized as a national leader in endoscopic and minimally invasive treatments. We offer a range of clinical trials evaluating new approaches for diagnosing and treating various pulmonary and esophageal disorders.

Specialized centers include the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Center, High-Risk Lung Assessment Program, Jo-Ann F. LeBuhn Center for Chest Diseases and Respiratory Failure, Lung Volume Reduction Program, Center for Advanced Lung Disease and Transplantation, Center for Barrett's Esophagus, Center for Acute Lung Failure (featuring thromboendarterectomy and ECMO transport/support), Mesothelioma Center, Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, Lung Cancer Screening Program, Harris Pulmonary Diagnostic Center, Fauth Center for Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, and Sleep Center.
