Joe Tiralosi

Joe walked into the NewYork-Presbyterian emergency room feeling sick and disoriented. He collapsed a minute later after suffering cardiac arrest. His heart stopped beating for 47 minutes. The emergency department team went into action under the direction of Dr. Sharma and Dr. Gaudio. They never stopped working on Joe. And after 4,500 chest compressions, Joe’s heart started to beat again. His body temperature was cooled to 91 degrees to help preserve brain function. He says, “I’m just an ordinary Joe who had an extraordinary experience working with the best doctors in the world.”
