The Hospital, one of the largest and most comprehensive academic healthcare systems in the country, ranks in the top five nationwide in seven specialties: cardiology, heart & vascular surgery (No. 5); neurology and neurosurgery (No. 4); orthopedics (No. 4); psychiatry (No. 3); diabetes and endocrinology (No. 2); urology (No. 2); and rheumatology (No. 3), a collaborative program with Hospital for Special Surgery. NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, which has leading experts in every area of medicine, ranked in the top 20 in 14 of 15 specialties, more than any other hospital in New York.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, which is affiliated with two renowned medical schools, Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and Weill Cornell Medicine, is one of just 20 hospitals nationwide to be named to the 2024-25 Best Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction recognizing hospitals that deliver the highest quality of care across a range of specialties, procedures, and conditions.

For the 2024-2025 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions; only 11% earned a Best Hospitals ranking. Hospitals awarded a “Best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, level of nursing care, and patient experience.

In 2023, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital was named New York’s No. 1 children’s hospital and among the best in the nation for children’s care, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2023-24 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. It was the 17th year in a row that NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital ranked among the best children’s hospitals. NewYork-Presbyterian provides pediatric care in every area of medicine at two major sites: NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital and NewYork-Presbyterian Komansky Children’s Hospital.
