The Weill Cornell Department of Emergency Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is pleased to offer a post-graduate Emergency Medicine Residency for Physician Assistants. For over a decade, our program has been committed to training PAs to become experts in the field of Emergency Medicine. Led by experienced Advanced Practice Providers and Weill Cornell’s renowned faculty, the Physician Assistant Residency provides our graduates with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver exceptional Emergency care and to become leaders in our profession.

The Department of Emergency Medicine at Weill Cornell Medicine is affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Located in the heart of New York City, we have the privilege of delivering exceptional, compassionate, and equitable care to a diverse patient population across two hospital campuses: NYP/Weill Cornell Medicine and NYP/Lower Manhattan Hospital.

Curriculum

The 12-month, 52-week, calendar encompasses over 2,500 hours of clinical experience divided between the adult emergency department, pediatric emergency department, and specialty off-service rotations. There is no official deadline. We will continue to accept applications until interview week, which for this cycle falls on the first week of April. The application link will remain active until May 1. However, candidates who apply after the interview week will not be considered. To maximize your chances, please complete your application before the last day of March, 2025.

Interviews will be held virtually over zoom on two consecutive days. Qualified applicants will be invited to interview by e-mail, at which point the exact time and date of the interviews will be announced. All admission decisions are made after interviews. 

Visit Us

We understand that it is not easy to decide which post-graduate program is right for you. In order to give applicants an opportunity to visit our department, meet the faculty and leadership, and tour the institution, we will be hosting in-person and virtual info sessions in the spring before interview season.

This year’s Open House info sessions are scheduled for:

  • Friday March 21st, 2025 from 11am – approx. 3pm (in person & virtual)
  • Friday March 29th, 2025 from 11am – approx. 3pm (in person & virtual)
