Each year, thousands of patients from all over the world travel to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital – among them, distinguished heads of state, leaders in business, the arts and entertainment. They know that:
NewYork-Presbyterian is one of America's best hospitals.
NewYork-Presbyterian has more top doctors than any other hospital in the United States.
NewYork-Presbyterian’s physicians and surgeons offer care in every specialty and sub-specialty of medicine.
Advanced Medical and Surgical Care
Heart Our cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons excel at bypass surgery; implanting devices such as defibrillators, pacemakers, and artificial heart devices (LVAD); valve repair and replacement; and thoracic aneurysm repair. NewYork-Presbyterian performs more heart transplants than any hospital in the United States.
Neuroscience Our neurosurgeons are among the first in the United States to use endoscopic surgery and advanced imaging to remove brain tumors.
Oncology Our urologists have advanced the nerve sparing techniques of robotic prostate surgery, preserving continence and sexual function in almost every patient. Our breast cancer surgeons participate in a number of clinical trials, allowing women to receive the latest and least-invasive treatments available.
Digestive Disease, Diabetes, Obesity Our digestive disease surgeons are at the vanguard of laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery, and techniques for the surgical treatment of diabetes. Our bariatric surgeons’ robust programs and research in obesity surgery have helped us become part of LABS, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) consortium that develops and evaluates obesity procedures.
Fertility Our fertility physicians are expert at evaluating men and women with fertility and genetic concerns, and have pioneered some of the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) techniques that allow infertile couples to conceive, and those with genetic disorders to conceive without passing along the disorder.
Transplant Each year, our Hospital performs more organ transplants than any other hospital in the United States.
Pediatric Exceptional care in all sub-specialties is available to pediatric patients.
Cutting-Edge Research
Our physicians and surgeons are also scientists. Our physicians are on the faculty of Weill Cornell Medical College. Through their academic appointments, they conduct innovative research in their respective fields of medicine. In fact, many techniques in use today – from the Pap Smear test to the world’s first gene therapy for Parkinson's disease – were developed by our physicians and surgeons.
Personalized Service
While our physicians and surgeons provide expert medical care, our International Services staff provide personalized service. They speak many languages and assist patients and families with a variety of details such as scheduling physician appointments, escorting patients to procedures, and requesting second opinions. We understand that after traveling so far, you will want to take time to explore one of the world’s most exciting cities. Our staff can also assist with information on accommodations and attractions in New York City.
