NewYork-Presbyterian Psychiatry (Test)

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia

Early evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment can have a major impact on improving the outcome of children with mental health problems. The team of psychiatric professionals at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia provides care for children and adolescents with a wide range of mental health disorders, including:

  • autism
  • anxiety
  • ADHD
  • eating disorders
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • personality disorders
  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • psychosis
  • mood disorders

We evaluate each child individually. Individual and group counseling, family therapy, and parenting workshops are available. Therapists collaborate with each child's teachers to and other healthcare providers to provide continuity of care.

A special Children's Day Unit is an outpatient day hospital program offering structured therapy for children and adolescents ages 12 to 18 with a diversity of diagnoses, including mood disorders, psychoses, and eating disorders. Inpatient hospital care is also available for children and adolescents.
