Specialists in Child and Adolescent Services and Programs at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Westchester Division in White Plains, New York take a holistic approach to the care of patients and their families. Early evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment can have a major impact on improving the outcome of children with mental health problems.

The team of psychiatric professionals at the Westchester Division provides inpatient and outpatient care for children and adolescents with a range of mental health disorders, including:

  • autism spectrum disorders
  • anxiety
  • ADHD
  • bereavement
  • eating disorders
  • obsessive-compulsive disorder
  • mood disorders
  • depression
  • substance abuse (addiction recovery)

We evaluate each child individually. Individual and group counseling and family therapy are available. Therapists can collaborate with each child's teachers and with other healthcare providers to provide continuity of care.

Nichols Cottage at the Westchester Division offers inpatient psychiatric care for children ages 5 to 12 in a safe and therapeutic environment. Through a variety of different types of groups, children learn to communicate their feelings appropriately and to interact with others in ways that are socially acceptable.

NewYork-Presbyterian's Westchester Division is also home to the Hospital's Center for Autism and the Developing Brain and its Center for Eating Disorders.
