Alcohol and Substance Abuse

About Our Program

NewYork-Presbyterian doctors provide patients affected by drug and/or alcohol dependence with ways to overcome their addiction. The field of substance abuse has grown in recent years with researchers moving beyond treating dependence to also better understanding the causes of it though examining patients' genetics and brain activity. This type of work is happening at academic medical centers such as NewYork-Presbyterian and leading to new treatments and improvements in existing ones. It is an exciting time that should give patients seeking help a great deal of hope that with proper clinical care their problems can be overcome.

Patients can choose to receive treatment for drug and/or alcohol dependence at all three of NewYork-Presbyterian's campuses. They can also choose the level of care that best suits their needs.
