The Child Protection Team (CPT) is a consult service comprised of an attending physician, fellow, and a social worker. The team receives consults from interdisciplinary staff throughout the hospital regarding cases involving suspected child abuse and neglect.
The CPT can be reached twenty-four hours a day seven days a week for questions and consultation. The CPT can provide
formal consultation, as well as advice and guidance before or after a case is reported to Administration for Children's
The social worker is also the Multi-Disciplinary Team Coordinator (MDTC) funded by a grant by the New York State Office
of Children and Family Services. This role includes coordinating multi-borough involvement with ACS and the District
Attorney's Office and acting as a liaison between ACS and the hospital.
